I'm creating an app that utilizes the iOS Microphone to record audio clips. One thing I've noticed is that, when no headphones/earbuds are plugged into my iPhone (running iOS 7), my recordings are basically silent (i.e., iOS appears to not pick up any audio). However, when plugging headphones or earbuds into the headphone jack, my recordings come through crystal clear. This is even true when plugging in earbuds without a microphone attachment.
Has anyone else run into this? I'd like to be able to record and play audio regardless of whether or not a pair of headphones is plugged into the device.
